The Project
MPI provide grants and funding to primary industry organisations to maximise exports, improve productivity, and help grow the economy through 18 programmes and a $100m annual investment. The project was to deliver a system to support the end to end grants and fund lifecycle (grant application, assessment of application, contract management, monitoring of deliverables, and payment of invoices) and was to be available to both internal and external users. The system would replace a plethora of spreadsheets, word documents and manual time consuming processes.

Results
The solution was rolled out to 100+ internal users and is used by 100’s of external applicants and grantees. The application was initially piloted by 30 users, and following a successful launch, was fully rolled out across the Ministry including teams from Finance, Procurement and Fund Management. MPI have seen significant improvements in processing times and now are able to allocate resources on value add activities rather than data processing. The ability to see real time analytics across the range of funding programmes has enabled better investment decisions.
